So the tire inserts replace the foam?

Yes. I tried this in the defender first after spending a lot of time in the a water. The Traxxas foams basically collapsed. I didn’t want to have to worry about drying tires after going out… Enter silicone.

Sounds like a winner do you have a recommendation for the TRX-4?

I’ve got those in my defender and like them. I use green in the element because it weighs less. You want a little bit of tire deformation on rocks to increase the contact patch, but not so much that it folds over when side hilling and the truck rolls over more easily.

Defender with blue silicone, gladiator with stock axial foams. After just picking both of these up and feeling the significan weight difference between the cars, I may put green in the axial today instead. It is significantly lighter than my defender build.



UPDATE

I swapped the stock foams in the Gladiator for Injora Greens. I think they fit the weight, the blues are for a heavier car.
