Are you doing overdrive at both the Diff and the portal?
Just overdrive on the front diff, all steel gears and a larger pinion gear
When you seal the Diff, trans back up make sure you slop plenty of grease around the edges where they seal shut. You don’t want those gears rusting in there from a river fording or falling off the “Defender’s Bitch Pass” AKA “Gladiator’s Gauntlet.”
